Who We Are

At True North Practice Transitions, our team is composed of highly-skilled dental attorneys and dentists experienced in practice sales, transitions, and any legal representations your practice needs. We aim to help you achieve professional success tailored to your needs.

Having worked with most dental practices in the North, we are here to make the transition process as smooth and stress-free for our clients as possible while achieving the greatest return.

JOSIAH FRICTON, J.D.

Joe Fricton is uniquely qualified to represent dentists, as he has been surrounded by them his whole life. Both of Joe’s parents and several other family members are dentists, and he was the only kid growing up whose parents gave out toothbrushes for Halloween.

Joe is known for listening intently to clients, taking the time to understand their questions and disputes, and fully engaging with the issues. He enjoys working with other attorneys and crafting strong arguments that encourage a fair course of action.

Joe earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the William Mitchell College of Law and graduated magna cum laude. He began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Jill Halbrooks of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

DAVID LINDE, D.D.S.

Dr. David Linde’s personal and professional experience supports his expertise in dental transitions.

Dr. Linde earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota and has over 30 years of private practice experience at Smiles of Distinction in Savage, Minnesota.

An active member of the dental community, Dr. Linde has held numerous offices in the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, Minnesota Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentistry, Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Central Regional Dental Testing Service, as well as several community organizations.

LISA NETZER, J.D.

Lisa brings years of legal expertise to True North Transitions, emphasizing employment law matters and board defense work. She believes that as an attorney, the emphasis should always be on problem-solving and listening carefully to her client's goals.

Lisa grew up in the Midwest. She came to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota for an undergraduate degree in Political Science and stayed for her law degree at the University of Minnesota School of Law. Lisa has experience in administrative law, private practice, civil litigation defense, and employment law





COLLEEN HALEY, J.D.

Colleen Haley’s exposure over the years to many aspects of the business of orthodontics has provided her with a working knowledge and awareness of what matters most to orthodontists.

Colleen’s advising background and legal education make her a skilled and intelligent listener, able to spot potential legal issues while also discovering a doctor’s motivations, priorities, and needs. She takes her role in the stewardship of a doctor’s orthodontic business seriously.

Colleen received her bachelor of science degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and her Juris Doctor (JD) from William Mitchell College of Law. She completed additional training in negotiation, civil, and family mediation and has met the requirements for inclusion on the State of Minnesota Supreme Court’s roster of qualified neutrals.

SCOTT HALEY

Scott Haley is a friend to orthodontists throughout the Midwest and across North America. Scott most recently served as Senior Director of Sales – North America for Envista Corporation’s two orthodontic companies: Ormco and Spark.

He joins True North Practice Transitions with two decades of experience working closely with orthodontists at all phases and stages of their careers, beginning with orthodontic residency.

Scott is dedicated to understanding the goals and the needs of our clients. He is best at delivering results with clear communication. Scott’s exposure to the clinical advances of orthodontics and his front-row seat education to industry trends in the business of orthodontics, gives him a highly cultivated understanding of orthodontists’ needs.

Scott enjoys serving as a sounding board to orthodontists; he is skilled in evaluating the soundness of offers and potential opportunities for doctors. He is aware of the watchouts in today’s orthodontics market and seasoned at developing strategic business initiatives and partnerships accordingly. His direct access to business leaders in orthodontics helps our clients have better outcomes in their career journey.

MARIE BAUDEK, M.Ed.

Marie’s extensive dental network developed through her professional career in dental education brings community and relationships to the forefront of our business. She looks forward to helping dentists in all phases of their careers meet their practice transition goals.

Marie has been involved in Dentistry for over 40 years. Her love of dentistry and personal interactions with the many dental health professionals she befriended throughout her career brought her out of retirement to join the True North Practice Transitions team.

She began her career at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1976 as an instructor in the Dental Auxiliary Utilization (DAU) Program. She then spent three years as a community program specialist coordinating the externship program for dental assisting students before being appointed associate director of continuing dental education in 1989. In 2012, she was named director of continuing dental education and served in this capacity until retiring from the University in March 2017.

MIRANDA NESBITT

Miranda Nesbitt’s outgoing personality is perfect for facilitating practice transitions. With a background in Marketing, Communication, and Administration, Miranda brings a kind and personal touch to True North Practice Transitions. Easily accessible and happy to help anyone she can, Miranda is a warm, familiar voice to our clients.

Miranda Nesbitt, of Bloomington, is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Marketing and Communication. She sat on the Alumni Board of SCSU for years after graduation, and has transitioned to become the president of the PTA for her daughters’ elementary school.
